How can I become a Canadian citizen?
Most people can only apply for Canadian citizenship once they meet the eligibility requirements, including:
Being a permanent resident of Canada
Having been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the five years before applying
Having filed taxes if required

If you are already a Canadian citizen, you can apply for proof of citizenship (a Canadian citizenship certificate) which you will need if you want to apply for a Canadian passport.
What do dual citizens of Canada need to fly to Canada?
If you are a dual Canadian citizen, you require a Canadian passport to travel to Canada by air. In some cases, dual nationals can apply simultaneously for a Canadian passport and proof of citizenship, or a limited-validity passport, or special authorization to board a flight to Canada.
