The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is an immigration pathway to permanent residency in Canada. If you are a skilled foreign worker or international graduate from select institutions who wants to live and work in one of Canada's Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador), you may be eligible.

How does the AIP work for Employers?

The AIP helps you hire qualified skilled workers and international graduates for jobs you haven’t been able to fill locally. These candidates can be overseas or living in Canada as temporary residents.

Before you can make a job offer to a candidate, you must first become designated by the provincial government of the Atlantic province where the candidate will be working.

Once you’ve offered a job and the candidate has accepted, there are several steps for you and the candidate to complete. If you both meet all the requirements, the candidate may apply for permanent resident status in Canada.
